The DTI Coiled Tubing Releasable Spear is used for fishing downhole tools or parts of broken tools without a fish neck that have been lost in the well tubing. To tool includes a flow activated release mechanism to facilitate the release from a stuck fish.
The DTI Coiled Tubing Releasable Overshot includes uniquely designed hardened grapple slips arranged on a tapered mandrel. Once the grapple slips are engaged on the bore of the fish, upward jarring will make the teeth bite and hold fast.
Release is achieved by increasing CT flow/pressure to operate a piston which disengages the tapered bowl from the grapple slips.
A range of grapple sizes is available for each Releasable Spear size which cover a range of fish sizes from 1.000” to 7.000”.
To enable centralisation and guiding the fish into the grapple bell guide skirts are also available.
