The DTI Coiled Tubing Swivel Joint is a fully sealed joint that provides the CT tool string with 360 degrees of rotation. The swivel enables the rotation of CT tool string at surface to allow conventional tool threaded make ups and break outs. It is also used in Coiled Tubing operations where the rotation of the lower tool string is necessary, such as when running gas lift valves.
The DTI Coiled Tubing uses a ball and socket design to enable the rotation of the joint without the need for bearings. This provides a robust connection that is able to withstand the effect of jarring whilst maintaining a good seal.
