Coiled Tubing Shear Release Joint
FUNCTIONALITY
DEPLOYMENT
SECTORS
The DTI Coiled Tubing Shear Release Joint enables the controlled and safe release of the tool string from the coiled tubing should the tool string get stuck. The tool is designed for coiled tubing operations where access through the bore is restricted or where a drop ball is not suitable.
The Shear Release Joint is a robust torque through sealed joint that is designed to maximize the tensile and torsional operating load capabilities, making it suitable for coiled tubing drilling operations.
The Shear Release Joint is locked together using Shear Screws through the Top & Bottom Subs and is released by tensile pull to over come the shear rating on the shear pins. A drop ball is not required.
Features and Benefits
- High torque and tensile ratings.
- No assembly tools required.
- Drop ball is not required.
- Shear pins can be supplied in either brass or steel to give a comprehensive pressure range to suit most coiled tubing applications.
- Standard GS Fishing Neck
