DTI's PKO retrievable straddle sleeve meets the need for a low-cost, easy to run annular isolation in 2-3/8” to 4-1/2” completions with a 5,000 psi maximum working pressure. The system is designed to be run and set in the well on slickline without any special setting tools and run and pulled using standard GS pulling tools.
The PKO straddle system use DTI’s large bore PKO packers combined with straddle sections for applications such as tubing patches, straddle sleeves and gas lift straddles. The PKO packers include integral tubing slip section that is used to anchor the assembly into the production tubing and element packer.
For shorter straddles up to about 12ft long the Straddle Isolation System can be deployed in two runs. For longer straddle sections tubing lengths can be added.
The PKO Lower Packer is run in hole first and the lower slips are activated by stopping the wireline quickly to shock shear the activation pin, setting down weight then engaging the lower slips with the tubing wall. Jarring down sets the element and then further jarring down sets the upper slips. Picking up the tool string removes the sheared GS Pulling Tool from the lower packer fish neck. A lock ring traps the setting force into the element so that it will not release during subsequent pressure reversals.
Straddle sections as required and the upper packer can be run in hole and set on top of the lower packer.
A variant of the PKO packers used in the straddle sleeve are used for PKB Bridge Plugs and for gas lift systems.

Applications
Leak Isolation
The retrievable PKO Straddle Sleeve provides a reliable, pressure-tight barrier so that annular leaks can be isolated and production maximised.
Gas Lift
By punching a hole in the tubing above the lower packer an upper packer with an integrated gas lift valve can be installed to enable gas lift by injecting down the A Annulus.
