DTI's Hydraulic Knuckle Joint enables a controlled deviation of up to 15° to be applied to the bottom hole assembly for multi-lateral entry or for cleaning or jetting tunneling applications.
The Hydraulic Knuckle Joint is held in the straight position by high load springs. As the toolstring pressure increases the knuckle joint articulates and becomes rigidly inclined at a maximum 15°. An optional bleed port indicator provides a pressure signal to the operator that the joint is fully articulated.
